Call for Proposals: Soundwave ((5)) Humanities
Deadline: October 10, 2011 – The next season of Soundwave will explore our sonic connections to the human condition. For HUMANITIES, Soundwave seeks artists, composers and musicians to investigate our human experience, and examine the future of our human constructs, cultures and rituals through sound. From Season 4’s outward examination of the environment to Season 5’s inward reflection of our own being and existence, the 2012 festival attempts to voice what makes us human in the backdrop of the MesoAmerican Long Count Calendar “Rebirth” and the ensuing mythologies and theories.

We are a San Francisco non-profit volunteer-run art organization that incites innovative experiential arts and ideas through exhibitions, products and live events.

This new chapter in ME’DI.ATE’s history enables it to better serve the Bay Area, expand its innovative programming, and increase capacity for artists, audiences, and funding opportunities with this new stronger organizational foundation.

ME’DI.ATE Announces Soundwave Festival ((4)) GREEN SOUND
April 8, 2010 – Bay Area’s Most Innovative Festival Explores Environmental Performances and Works From June 6 to August 13 2010. ME’DI.ATE Art Group is excited to announce the return of the acclaimed Soundwave Festival this summer for its fourth season, entitled GREEN SOUND, exploring the natural world and environmental issues. Arguably the largest collection of artists and performances the Bay Area’s avant-sound scene has ever seen, Soundwave ((4)) GREEN SOUND will feature over 75 participating artists and musicians, in over 35 inspired performances, exhibits and talks, in 18 events over the span of 2 ½ months.
